2009, 2010, and 2011 Grist Vineyard Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma

The Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County is one of the world's finest regions for the production of Zinfandel. Grist Vineyard is a dry-farmed Zin vineyard which produces excellent fruit year-in and year-out. We aim for elegance in our Zinfandels, with a balance of the spicy red berry fruit, acidity, tannins, and mild oak influence. In this regard, our Zinfandels are closer stylistically to a Sangiovese of Tuscany than with any of the ultra-ripe massive Zins so much in vogue in California. We blend in 2-3% Grist Petit Sirah with our Zin for tannins and color.

$34 per bottle/$367.20 per case ($30.60 per bottle @ 10% case discount)

2008 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa

The 2008 Remington Cabernet Sauvignon shows classic Howell Mountain spicy elegance, deeply colored, with wild mountain blackberry, blueberry and a touch of black pepper on the nose and palate, beautiful ripe tannin structure, and framed by new French oak. This wine is lovely now, but will also reward patient cellaring for ten years and beyond. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 3% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. 14.6% alc. 25 cases made.

A few cases of the 2007 Howell Mountain Cabernet remain available.
